Competition Teams
Are you a competitive dancer? Or are you wanting to take the next step with your dancing? RSD Studios has three competition teams; Performance, Elite and Company teams. All of these teams are by audition only, as selected by Director Shannen. Our auditions are held in November, however, if you think you have what we want, then please contact us and we are happy to private audition.
About the teams
If you are looking at dancing competitively, RSD has many team options to take your dancing to the next level. All teams require auditions. These are held at the end of the year, however, we can hold private auditions on request.
Our Junior, Inter and Senior Performance teams is a great stepping for students who have been dancing recreationally for a few years and would like the opportunity to take their dancing to the next step. Classes include fundamental technique training as well as learning routines for our End of Year Showcase.
We have 5 Elite teams; Mini, Junior, Preteen, Teen & Senior. Students who audition successfully are placed in teams based on two criteria's ability and age. Students in the Elite teams can expect to perform at least 2 - 4 competitions per year.
Our RSD Company team is suited to our hardest working, dedicated and most passionate students. Students in this team need also to join their appropriate Elite team and will participate in many competitions throughout the year, as well as having special performance opportunities.
Finally, we also offer students opportunities to audition for our exclusive Ballet troupes (Junior and Inter / Senior) and new in 2023 is our Hip Hop troupe. Both these troupes will compete at least 2 competitions per year.
